Guitar for Kuorong Chiang

Model: H1a

Specifications:

The Hauser style covered "Vee" head joint under construction. This is not the through type of Vee joint used by Jose Romanillos, this is more complicated and stronger head joint. Many "experts" do not know the difference because they fail to look at the details.

Here is a close up of the joint being fitted.

Brazilian rosewood head plate with 1937 Segovia/Hauser style purfling.

Reischl "Maestro" model tuning machines.

Heel glued on to the neck blank ready to be slotted and carved.

German Spruce "Moonwood" soundboard halves being glued up.

Construction of the rosette. Rosette is after a 1958 Hauser II Segovia model guitar which is also frequently used by Hauser III. One of the main features of the Hauser rosette is the use of side grain instead of end grain which gives the rosette a glittery reflection unlike end grain tiles that absorb the light.
